Biography

 

Constantine Kokenes, MD has been chanting for over 40 years. He did his preliminary chant studies with Nicholas Kakoulides (New York) and Konstantinos Katsoulis (Athens, GR) In 1993, he joined the Romeiko Ensemble where he spent 10 years studying and performing with Giorgos Bilalis. Dr Kokenes is a 14-year veteran of Cappella Romana. CD credits include Thy Cross We Adore and Holy Monday with Romeiko,  Mt Sinai, Good Friday in Jerusalem, Lost Voices of Hagia Sophia and the soon to be released Hymns of Kassiane with Cappella Romana and The Hymns of St George and Bright Monday with the Dynamis Ensemble. He has taught beginning chant classes at the Koukouzelis Institute in California under John M. Boyer as well as at the inaugural TLAA.  He currently chants at the Annunciation Cathedral in Atlanta, GA.
